“24 frames of truth per second” - Jean-Luc Godard
Sustenance. substance. story.
“Necessity is absolute truth. Necessity is what in fact happens when we act. This truth is known – and can only be known – when we take action into the depth and breadth of our world and brave its reaction.” (Robert McKee, Story, 1999) about storytelling.

Created as a response to the change in legislation of human rights in the US, summer of 2019.
This short film is a portrait of a dancer and poetic criticism questioning the power over female bodies. It’s everywhere: patriarchal systems, schools, the government, religious institutions, society’s minds.
The short film draws parallels between the dancer's upbringing in one of Poland’s strictest dance schools and today’s patriarchal system, where institutions have more control over a woman's body than the woman herself. Poland has the toughest abortion restrictions in Europe, placing it far outside the settled European consensus on women's rights to control their own bodies. As the dancer's and my country of heritage, it was important for us to make a statement. It is where she learned to dance and grew up, but also where she escaped the demands of others and instead chose herself. Poland is where we filmed at the sea and in the dunes.
MY WOMB is a love letter for everyone who stands up for themselves.

2020 Corona virus outbreak. Everything we knew has come to a halt because of wild life trade. Up to 75% of emerging disease is of zoonotic origin.
While many of governments located in the Global North had systems in place, such as Corona support fonds, unemployment services or furlough scheme guarantees, citizens of many low-income countries simply don’t have such back-ups from their governments, leaving them incredibly vulnerable. For many, the forest and the ocean offered their safety net putting years of conservation efforts at risk.
ON HOLD was created for Project Hiu outlaying the complexity and severity of the situation.
