Consious Connection – Marion Payr
Directed, shot, edited, colour graded & produced by Martina Trepczyk
Safari, when done responsibly, can act as a bridge to connect the awe of discovery with the responsibility of conservation.
Marion Payr, a renowned travel and wildlife photographer and Martina Trepczyk set out to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Various National Parks enabled to experience wildlife up close and learn that ethical safaris create vital funding for conservation. Surrounding local communities benefit immensely. This ensures that wildlife is worth more alive than lost to poaching or habitat destruction.
Now, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in history, where the survival of countless species depends not on their own resilience, but on our willingness to act.
Therefore this film acts as an invitation to experience nature in its purest form—not just as a spectator—but as a conscious participant, a custodian, an advocate.
Because conservation is not just a cause—it’s a responsibility.

Sharing Most of the DNA
Humans and gorillas share most of their DNA. The less than 2% genetic difference between us is remarkable and noticeable. Marion Payr and Martina Trepczyk were truly captivated by their presence.
They encountered the species “Mountain Gorilla” of which only 1,063 are left, making them critically endangered.
The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to about 459 individual Mountain Gorillas, according to the last 2019 Gorilla Census, known as the Bwindi population. This makes up nearly half of all the Mountain Gorillas in the world. The rest are found nearby, across the border in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
